You found the deal: a Hetzner CX or Contabo VPS for roughly the price of two coffees. RAM is fine. Disk is fine. Then you price the panel. Official 2026 store seats still run Solo Cloud at $29.99/month (1 account), Admin at $35.99 (5), Pro at $53.99 (30), and Premier at $69.99 (100, then $0.49 […]

You already close the domain. Then the customer asks the question that should print money: “Can you host the site too?” You hesitate. Official 2026 store pricing still sells cPanel by the seat — Solo Cloud at $29.99/month (1 account), Admin at $35.99 (5), Pro at $53.99 (30), Premier at $69.99 (100, then $0.49 each).

A prospect is ready to pay. Then they ask the question that kills the close: “Do you offer a 30-day money-back guarantee?” Your competitor does. You do not — not because the hosting is weak, but because the official panel invoice is Pro Cloud at $53.99/month (30 accounts) or Premier at $69.99/month (100 accounts). One

You just won a managed-server contract. The client’s VPS is up, SSH works, and they expect WHM this week. Then the official quote lands: Pro Cloud at $53.99/month (30 accounts) or Premier at $69.99/month (100 accounts) — per box. Your management fee is $150–$300. The panel ate a fifth to nearly half of it before

A client asks for their cPanel password. You stall. Their site sits next to two other clients, your brochure, and a staging copy you never deleted — all inside one cPanel account. Addon domains. Shared FTP. One mailbox list. You did not design a sloppy stack. You designed around a license that charges you for

You connected WHMCS to WHM so the next paid order would create the account while you slept. It worked — once. Then you hit thirty accounts on official Pro, or the Premier invoice landed near $70/month for a single node. The billing panel is doing its job. The seat under WHM is not. Automation that

You listed a “cPanel VPS” at $19.99 because that is the number buyers search. Then you opened the official quote. One control-panel seat per virtual machine. Account tiers. A license line bigger than the KVM you are actually selling. The SKU dies on the spreadsheet before the first order lands. A cPanel VPS license at

You opened Cloudways so the first client site would “just work.” A DigitalOcean 1GB box at $11/month. Then the 2GB at $28 because plugins ate RAM. Then a second server so ten WordPress installs would not fight one stack. Then a 4GB at $54 when the Woo store launched. You are not running a hosting

You can see $1,000 in monthly hosting revenue from here. Forty local-business sites at $25. A hundred starters at $10. A mixed book of $15 shared plans and a handful of “priority” seats. The sites are not the problem. The cheap cPanel license you refused to buy is. You are still on a high-path panel

You bought cPanel Solo because the manufacturer labeled it the freelancer plan. One account. One site. A store price of $29.99 every month in 2026. Then a second client said yes. Solo will not add that account. The next official rung is Admin (five accounts), then Pro (thirty), then Premier near $70/month plus overage. You
